Good job team, take a few days off, there is still a lot to do this year.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 03.23.06

Well pit day was full of mixed feelings. Unfortunately, Flux has yet to run at its full capablities so far, as we have run into a few problems. We kept falling on our back and we had a code error, plus our belts took so much wear that they needed to be replaced and we cracked a piece of masonite. Plus we haven't gotten to show the other teams how well our robot really can shoot (if you have seen it in practice or watched our videos, you should know). Fortunately, that is roughtly all the bad news.

On the bright side, we have helped four other teams with programming problems, Robert helped rewire Team 1358's robot pretty much all day, our safety kits were a big success, and, amoung other things, the team seems to be having a good time and has been operating smoothly. The program is being worked on tonight, tommorrow we are going to re-allocate some weight, but other than the technical issues I can only hope that the next two days run so smoothly.

We are meeting at the same time and place tomorrow for the bus, but make sure that you wear your blue shirts. As a team we would also like to add that anyone who wishes to come and show support would not only be welcomed, but most definately appreciated. We gaurentee that you will have a good time.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 03.22.06

The Long Island Regional competition is tomorrow at Hofstra University. We will be meeting at the High School at 6:45. The bus is LEAVING at 7AM whether you are on it or not, so everyone make sure to come on time. Everyone must wear Black team shirts for Pit Day.

    I'll see you all then!

Update by Mr. Buonomo on 3.14.06

The team submitted an entry this year for the Autodesk Inventor Award. You can check out our submission here.

When you see Trevor give him a big pat on the back! Trevor put in over 100 hours into the design and drawing of this year's robot. As you know every part we fabricate gets draw in Inventor. Finally, after three years of trying to get all those parts assembled in one drawing, Trevor did it. Take a minute to check it out, it looks AMAZING. Nice job Trevor.

    Update by R.Stephenson on 3.13.06

We will be having a meeting this Wednesday the 15Th. At this meeting we will be handing out shirts. Additionally at this meeting we will discuss and prepare for the competition next week.

This Saturday March 18Th is our Community-wide Highway Clean-up and we will be meeting in the back of the High School at 8am. In addition we will be working on “Shop in a Box”

Also that night we will be meeting at R. De Francisco’s house for some team bonding of watching the back to the future movies while making buttons.

Update by Mr. Buonomo on 2.22.06

Flux has been delivered to Festo as of 1:11 PM.

The website, Chairman's and Woodie Flower's awards have been submitted. All that now remains is the Autodesk Inventor Award. Trevor is hard at work as I type and will done as soon as physically possible.

Good job team, take a few days off, there is still a lot to plan and prepare before March 23rd.

    Update by R.Stephenson on 2.21.06

Attention as of 7a.m. this morning the robot is officially crated and ready for Fedex.

Update by R.Stephenson on 2.20.06 - from Remote Shop

During the past three days we have been working in the remote shop, AKA the Stephenson’s house. Over the course of these three days college mentors helped programming the IR sensor, as well as write code for an alternative autonomous program. Also K. Reilly and Denise sewed belts that ended up not being able to grip the rollers and are working on new ones. We also found out which parts of the robot that we need to make/buy spare parts for. In addition had everyone that was there try driving. We furthermore worked on the bill of materials.

In the end, these three days working in the remote shop was a success. It was also a time where from being in tight quarters, freezing temperatures and united by few hours of sleep the team bonded.

    Update by R.Stephenson on 2.18.06

Today is our last Saturday during the 2006 build season and during today programming mainly had the robot while they worked on the ir sensor, autonomous, and camera code. While others decorated the robot with our logo and sponsors. At the same time the business team collected money for shirts. And one of our team leaders is supposed to order them later today. The business team additionally worked on our Chairman’s award submission. While this was going on our CAD team worked on drawing a full drawing of the robot. In addition our website team made final touch ups to the website.

At the end of the day we realized we need some more time so we decided to move the robot to the remote shop…AKA the Stephenson’s house

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 02.17.06

    We are quickly approaching shipping!

Thursday we worked a lot on getting everything finished and together so that we could start to do programming. We then weighed the robot and discovered that we were at 120lbs on the nose so we needed to shave off some weight. Thusly, the entire robot was disassembled. But we did get to practice driving up the ramp before the night was done and we were capable but you really need a skilled driver to get it done.

Friday: Now we were at endgame so we worked throughout the entire school day, being excused by understanding and supportive teachers. Everything was finalized mechanically (for after weight removal) and we got to start programming. We could not stay after however so it is all up to our meeting tomorrow where everything has to get done. This is because we can not get into the school over the break this year and must pack up the robot tomorrow. So let's finish 'er up!

Shirt money MUST be handed in tomorrow!

As week 6 is rapidly concluding, don't forget to post in the week six thread.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 02.15.06

An... odd day. We still have not given the robot to the programmers (which is bad), but even worse is the fact that we had an injury today. T.Carr took a piece of metal to the head and needed to go to the hospital to get a staple. This is why it is very important that every team has someone who knows first aid; M.Deblasio was able to put pressure on the wound until we could get him to the hospital.

But as far as the robot is going it looks like all the final parts are going on now. Mechanical was working on finalizing all the parts and Electrical improved the board. We unfortunately did not have time to weigh the robot.

Tomorrow we will get to do more than usual because the meeting has been extended until at least 9:30PM. Bring money for dinner because we are eating it at school.

Speaking of money, shirt money is still due Saturday.

    Week six thread.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 02.14.06

Okay. After disassembling the robot we now have reassembled it in a way that allows it to drive backwards up the ramp, but we still have a few problems. One side is driving faster than the other, the angle adjust and firing buttons are on different controllers, the firing wheel isn't working right, and we still haven't started programming. We also need to mount the camera still and put the upper belt back on. Checking the weight might also be a good idea; we should use the wrestling scale. That is all I can think of right now unless we decide to add anything else (but we are really running out of time).

Don't forget to hand in your shirt money by Saturday!

Keep posting in the week six thread.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 02.13.06

Unfortunately, we STILL aren't quite done yet, or at least we weren't when I left. But we should be done very soon (before the meeting after school tomorrow). I know I am pushing you guys but we NEED to give the robot to Programming and soon. They need time to get the code running properly so we will be able to perform during the matches. Good luck everyone!

Shirt money is still due Saturday. Make sure you hand it in.

    Week six thread.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 02.11.06

Well we aren't done yet. New belts were made and we had some great shooting done (we have video), but although we worked a lot on it mechanically and electrically, it still isn't done. and to top it all off, at the end of the day we discovered that we completely lost driving on one side of the robot. Therefore, we ask that anyone in mechanical and electrical who has a free period on Monday come and try to finish the robot before the meeting. Programming really needs to test and code so we can make our shooter as close to perfect as possible.

Don't forget to fill out a shirt order form and return it with money NO LATER THAN next Saturday, February 18th. If you don't buy at least a blue and black shirt, you will not be attending regionals.

This is the end of week five. ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT!

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 02.09.06

And everything starts to come together...

We have received new sprockets and the work on completing the robot mechanically has begun. Today we used orange construction fence materal to work on the hopper and also developed and idea for using it as a belt. Electrical has been accommodated with the amount of space they need for a board. Programming and Mechanical worked together to come up with the safest place to mount the camera. The pieces are starting to fall in place.

Tomorrow we will be having a meeting. Our goal is to finish all the mechanical work on the robot tomorrow (Friday) and then finish all the Electrical on Saturday. Then we will have one week to test and program.

Shirt order forms were handed out today. You must fill one out and return it with money NO LATER THAN next Saturday, February 18th. Get one from Lena if you do not have one.

I will see you all after school tomorrow. Please post in the week 5 thread, we need to keep track of what gets done.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 02.07.06

"What happened to Monday?" you may ask. well, only Mr.Z was at the school so we needed to limit the number of members at the meeting to those who had immediate tasks at hand. Unfortunately, in mechanical we discovered that we have lost one of our sprockets that we need to complete the harvester and loader. This has very much slowed production as we now have to wait two days for this sprocket to come in. Mechanical is still working on all they can do without the part, including work on the hopper frame and adjustment of the shooter. They also weighed the robot and from what I have heard, we are much lighter than we thought we were.

In Electrical, they have designed their entire system in two boards that run parallel to each other. The lower board is now complete and work must begin on the upper board.

The rookie programming members are still working on their EDUrobot project, but the Veteran members have done all the theoretical code they can and now must wait for the robot.

We have changed the policy about the shirts: you must now buy both blue and black to go to regionals. The price is still unconfirmed.

Well let's hope we get the robot finished soon. Don't forget to post in the the week 5 thread!

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 02.04.06

    ONLY TWO WEEKS LEFT!!

    Today in a nutshell:

  • Programming- worked on Autonomous code and the rookie programmers have the camera working on the edurobot, they just need to get its tracking to function properly.
  • Electrical- Started work on the final electrical board for the completed robot.
  • Mechanical- Let's see... The new belt went on the harvester and a custom gear was worked on using the CNC machine. The mechanisms were removed from the basic frame so that they could be tweaked while work was put into the hopper. The major question now is material for the hopper and ideas were abundant. We will have to see how that turns out on Monday.

Thanks to the Bells for Lunch this week! We really do appreciate it whenever someone brings us in food.

The shirt design is finalized so everyone make sure to start ordering on Monday so we can put the order in. the numbers aren't definite yet, but if it is anything like last year it will cost you $7 per shirt. Blue is required to purchase, black is not but is recommended.

As I said earlier in the post, we have only two weeks left: Week 5 and Week 6. We are getting short on time and we need to finish this robot up soon. Write down what you did this week in the week 4 thread if you have not already done so. Monday starts week 5.

  • Update by BerserkerSpyke on 02.02.06

Well today was mostly more testing. The programming team tested more theoretical data and the new programming members worked on the EDUrobot, getting their compiler to finally work for them. Electrical stayed mainly with mechanical today as we constantly were disconnecting and reattatching motors to run the harvester and shooter. the new chain guard went on today and it is a beauty. On top of that, The shooter now is pivoting and the pivot is fully powered by a threaded rod and globe motor. a lot of the testing done today was on ideas on how to load the shooting mechanism, mostly done with cardboard mock-ups. We now have an idea as to what we will build as the permanent loader on Saturday.

If you haven't been checking the media section every week, you have been missing out. I have been updating the galleries every week during build season with new pictures and sometimes even video. I usually update at the beginning of every week, and I figured I would tell everyone about the updates because it was brought to my attention that not everyone was already aware.

Well, that is it for the school day meetings this week, I will see everyone on Saturday. Be at the high school bright and early, ready to work! And post in the week 4 thread with whatever you accomplished so far this week.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 02.01.06

Today was a day of troubleshooting. Programming had to fix a problem that the camera was having involving negative angles when adjusting do to distance from the target. Mechanical took off the shooter to figure out how to make both the shooter and harvester run more effectively. The shooter's mount is being raised by about 8 inches and guards are being put in for the chain. Yesterday's masonite used in testing the harvester was attached and was being manipulated in order to increase efficiency. We also decided where to mount the camera on the robot.

Keep posting in the week 4 thread. I think I have given the aim chat enough publicity to not have to mention it in every update anymore.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 01.31.06

Today was impressive. Mechanical now has the harvester and shooter running and the shooter is mounted on the robot. We even got to test everything at once. Electrical completed the pneumatics box. Programming has the camera tracking really well and has the new programmers working with the EDUbot and last year's camera. Overall, today was a great day for the team and I hope that we can keep that up so that we can finish construction and then have time to test the shooting program and adjust it as needed.

Great job giving feedback in the week 4 thread, keep at it. I hope that discussions are going on in the aim chat still as well.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 01.30.06

Sorry about not writing the Saturday update, but I didn't receive any info about it until today. As far as I can see, we have most of the theoretical code written in programming now which can't truly be verified without the robot. Electrical is making great progress on the pneumatics box and even discussed mounting possibilities for the electrical board components today. Mechanical seems to have many of the problems with systems and connectivity figured out as they now have clear designs for the shooter's elevation mechanism, the harvester's full design, the hopper, and the incorporation of the omni-wheels. The drive motors have also been shifted to the back of the drive train. the progress on everything seems to be looking good, especially when we were driving today up the newly diamond-plated ramp. Let's keep up the great work everyone.

New week, new forum thread: week 4 posts go here. The aim chat is still room "team871" if you wish to use that as well.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 01.26.06

Electrical and Programming are still working on what they began yesterday, but with all the new parts mechanical is where most of the attention has turned to. The basic frame and harvester is built to the specifications of its design, but we ran into a little problem: We don't know how the designed harvester connects past the hopper into the shooter. That was the question of the day, one which we still have really not solved. Everyone keep thinking so we can hopefully fix this problem on Saturday.

Saturday's meeting is the same as usual, come before 9am because at 9 we start work. I, unfortunately will be at a college so it is super important that you post all your progress in the week 3 forum thread so I can write the Saturday update. The aim chat is fine too.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 01.25.06

The parts came in today! Mechanical is amazing with all the work they are doing on the subsystems and on the basic frame of the robot. At this rate we should finish rather quickly. Programming is attempting to run a program using the camera and EDUrobot, but haven't really gotten anywhere with that yet. And last but not least, Electrical has begun to work on the 2006 pneumatics box (an entire pneumatics system condensed into a small box that we will give to any robot at competition if they have a pneumatics failure).

You know the drill. Meeting at 2 tomorrow, week 3 forum thread, and aim chat for communication until then.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 01.24.06

Let's see... Electrical received a list of things to work from Mr.Stephenson and have been completing the tasks on the list. Programming continued to test the camera which seems to be working rather well. Mechanical is still working without parts, but they have been doing so effectively on the shooting and harvesting mechanisms. I hope for all our sakes that the parts come in soon.

The meeting deal is the same as yesterday, starts at 2 but stop by at any other time if you have a job to do. Aim chat should still be up and post things in the week 3 forum thread when you complete them.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 01.23.06

Still more progress as we wait for parts. Programming has the camera now scanning with the theoretical angles that we could encounter at any point on the offensive side of the field. Electrical finished their organization in the storage room and should be ready to mount an electrical board to get the chassis moving by tomorrow. Mechanical did whatever they could do with the current lack of parts, while others completed the playing field. All that is left for that is to mount the green light.

The real meeting starts at 2 tomorrow, but if you are at the school and have some job to do for the team, check to see if the room you need is working and go to work. Otherwise, we will see you at 2 and in the aim chat and week 3 forum thread.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 01.22.06

We are starting to look pretty good.

Thursday there was no real "meeting" so to say, but the team was there in force for the 8th grade orientation. We had last year's robot, Impulse, running as well as the prototype ball launcher. We also had the 2005 team video projected on the wall, and we had people explain the different projects we do in robotics as well as the technology department as a whole. And we make quite a cut of profit on our bake sale as well. Thanks to everyone who baked or bought, and to the school administrators who let us hold the sale and demonstrations.

But, of course, everyone wants to hear about the robot :). Well we have started bosching the frame in mechanical, worked on the board prototype in electrical, and have the camera working in programming. Definitely good considering we still don't have our parts in yet. The rookie programmers were taught more about the code, and I taught R.Stephenson all the html he should need to get the FLL site up and running (so expect that to be populated soon). And, last but not least, thanks to the Santospirito's for lunch.

I also want to quickly mention that we had a few volunteers from our team at the SBPLI Lego League regional today, and even though neither of our FLL teams received any awards, everyone seems like that had a pretty good time. Congratulations to all FLL teams who participated!

Don't forget that we are working through midterms this week. I'll see everyone tomorrow, but until then... we still have the "Team 871" chat and the week 3 forum thread.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 01.18.06

    Today's meeting in a nutshell:
  • Robot controller doesn't work and IFI is still fixing the problem.
  • Prototyping of electrical board.
  • Some practice programming in Easy-C.
  • Field worked on.
  • Problem with Gearboxes on drive train fixed.
That is about all we got done today, but due to limitations beyond our control, those were basically the only things we COULD do.

8th grade orientation and bake sale are TOMORROW. We hope to see everyone there.

The parts still aren't here and the workload is quickly diminishing until they arrive. But they are coming! Keep up with the "Team 871" chat and the week 2 thread in the forums.

  • Update by BerserkerSpyke on 01.17.06

The biggest thing we accomplished today was disassembling our first robot, Bitbot. There was also a little training for the Programmers, and the green light was finished by Electrical.

This Thursday, January 19th, is 8th grade orientation. As always we will be present, but on top of that we will be having a bake sale. See Lena for details.

We are working as best we can without the parts (they haven't arrived yet), but we still have tons to do. Keep up with the "Team 871" chat and the week 2 thread in the forums.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 01.16.05

Sorry for the late update, but I wanted to make sure that I had the media section up and running before the news post. It is populated now, as the story section has been since Friday.

Saturday's meeting: we built a basic chassis and the green lights for the field. More work was put into the shooter. Most of the programmers were sent to the workshop, notes of which are available on the forums. But some of the programming for the camera was worked on back at the school at the same time. (We hooked the camera up to an old electrical board.) Some documentation work was done and the design for this year's shirts was worked on as well.

Thanks to the Rielly family for lunch.

Obviously no meeting today because of the holiday (the school is closed so we can't get in). On Tuesday we go back to work!

The "Team 871" chatroom is doing very well, but the forums needs more attention. Everything should be documented so we don't waist time explaining things over and over again, and so we don't forget. So we did anything, please have the courtesy to post it.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 01.12.06

We think we virtually have the design now. We will use surgical tubing on a kind of belt drive to bring balls into a hopper, we will have a special 4-6 wheel drive system with two omni-wheels, and we will have one of two configurations for our two spinning wheel shooter to be on one motor. Ladies and Gentlemen, it looks like a plan!

No meeting tomorrow (as with most Fridays), but come between 8 and 8:30 AM on Saturday because we start working at 9. Programmers be ready to leave for the workshop which Mr.Luchen is driving to at 9:15. Targets for Saturday include field construction, basic drive train construction, ordering all parts for the rest of the robot, some programming work, Making a CNC program for our gears, and having the CAD design finished.

Keep up with chatroom "Team 871" and the week one thread in the forums. I'll see you bright and early on Saturday!

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 01.11.06

Scratch what you heard in the last update. The 2004 robot, Blitz, was reconfigured today into a consistent ball launcher using the two spinning wheel method. This is excellent. We also have some good ideas as to what we are going to do for other parts of the design, and we have some CAD files in the works. We are aiming at being a shooter now, and with everyone's cooperation we will make the greatest shooter this competition has ever seen.

Aim chatroom "Team871" is still open for business and I am happy with the number of visitors we have been getting. Don't forget the forums are still the best place to ask a question if there isn't someone in the chat who can help you.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 01.10.06

And we hit the first FIRST speed bump of the season today: we think that our original firing idea may be against the rules and therefore we need to come up with a new way of firing or build a robot that does not fire, but merely collects and dumps. Today was another design meeting in which we had everyone prototype ideas for robots in the woodshop and worked on possible design flaws. We haven't gotten the firing problem exactly down yet, but everyone is supposed to look at the ChiefDelphi forums for possible designs for either a "shooting robot" or a "feeding robot", or come up with a new original idea for tomorrow's meeting.

The Aim chat is still running very well in room "Team871", but there is a lack of activity in the week one discussion thread in the forums. Everyone needs to participate if they want their voices heard.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 01.09.06

Welcome to the 2006 FIRST robotics season!

This year's game is called "Aim High", a game that surprisingly features projectiles! Yes, in order to score in the center goal it will be necessary for the robot to throw Poof balls. But a detailed walkthrough of the game will be put in the 2006 Game section soon.

More importantly, today was the first day of our real build season, the first day of meetings Monday through Thursday and Saturdays! Every day with a meeting will have an update, and some days without meetings will have updates as well (for media, content, etc.). Today we started to design the robot and seem to be pointing in the direction of a six-wheel drive system and a firing mechanism using compressed air. We really got a lot done, and there was tons of involvement by both veteran and rookie members. More than likely, we will continue the design process until Saturday; that is when we will start to build the 2006 robot: Flux.

Everyone should come to meetings as frequently as possible, read the forums, and join our newly created Aim Chat. Yesterday we created the chatroom "Team871" so that we could discuss the game in real time. It will hopefully remain open all of build season so if you have a quick question, ask there. This section of the forums will also be used for discussing items pertaining to Week One.

Update again tomorrow, read the rules and keep brainstorming! :)

Just a quick update: SBPLI and LI FIRST will be hosting a programming workshop at Haupaugge High School on January 14th (yes, during build season).
See the forums for more information.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 12.06.05

Well, first of all I would like to apologize for taking a long time to update. It is off-season right now for robot but school and college, among other things, have been driving me crazy and I haven't even been on my computer all that much recently. That said, if I am not updating, it is for a reason and I am sorry about that. But updates will still come every day during season and I will try and get better with other updates.

Now, to recap what has happened since the last update...

  • 10.27.05- Good turnout, great time. We helped raise some money for the hurricane and got some recognition from Impulse demonstrations.
  • 10.29.05- Also a nice turnout for Defensive Driving. Thanks to all who participated. And we may or may not have almost dropped the trebuchet on Z...
  • November DDR was canceled for many reasons. We are currently waiting on some new information before we reschedule it.
  • 11.05.05- Pumpkin Fling. We DOMINATED, launching a pumpkin 673ft! We also were featured on a local news station the night before our first place victory.
  • 11.10.05- The kickoff and raffle drawing. We had a lot of people there and our team speakers all seemed to do well. We even got to show off our 2005 season video as well as our news segment from our recent Pumpkin Fling Victory. We had a great time and would like to thank all in attendence. We would also like to congratulate all those who won in our raffle. For more info on that, see the booster club section of the website.
  • The November Highway Cleanup was also a roaring success. We went as one group collecting trash in style with Shane's golf cart playing the radio along the way. We made Higbee nice and clean and had an entertaining (yet still freezing) Saturday morning. :>

December should be a lot more mellow with only really the cleanup on the 17th as far as events are concerned (and possibly DDR). If you have been reading the forums you would have seen that we are looking into a LAN fundraiser and that our workshops have been moved to early January.

I should have the media section up and filled some time this month (as long as the hysteria dies down). Join the discussions brewing in the forums if you have the chance.

  • Update by BerserkerSpyke on 10.26.05

I know you all have been waiting patiently, so here is the update:

  • 10.22.05- Highway Clean-up: It was raining, but we were there. A large student turn-out made for a quick job after we split in two at the end of Lion's Path and reconvened later on. Next time we will go as one group unless it is raining again because it is more fun when we are all together.
  • 10.27.05- Also known as tomorrow. Hurricane Katrina fundraiser at the High School. $10 per ticket, children under 12 free with paid adult. 5PM until 10PM. There is going to be a lot of cool stuff including live bands, an open mic, and, of course, Team 871 robot demonstrations. Everyone needs a ticket, even volunteers. Don't you want to help out people from the gulf coast, including FIRST teams? Then come check it out.
  • 10.27.05, 10.28.05, 10.29.05- Trebuchet meetings at the High School. Let's build a pumpkin-chucking MONSTER of engineering!
  • 10.29.05- Defensive Driving Class at the High School. 9AM until 3PM. $40 for non-booster club members, $35 for members. It is definitely worth it. You will get 10% off your auto insurance and four points off your license.

That is all for October. Now on to November...

  • 11.03.05- DDR/Halo/Super Smash Brothers Melee in Cafeteria A at the High School. 6PM-9PM. $5 for DDR freestyle, $5 for DDR tournament, $7 for both like last year. The new stuff: $3 for Melee, $3 for Halo, $4.50 for Melo (Both). Not enough for you? $10 will get you everything. Not up to the challenge? It is only $3 to observe. There will be food and prizes and it will be a great night of fun, gauranteed. (Next Thursday)
  • 11.05.05- Pumpkin Fling. That is really enough said, but I will say more. Watch us launch pumpkins hundreds of feet through the air and compete against other trebuchets and catapults. If you can't make it all the way out to Yapphank, I am sure we will demonstrate it upon request.
  • 11.10.05- Last for now but certainly not least, this is our team kick-off. All parents, Sponsors, Potential Sponsors, friends, students, ect. are invited to attend. This is also when we will be holding our raffle drawing so all tickets are due then. See the Booster Club Section for details. Want some tickets? We will be selling them at all these events so make sure to put in for your chance to win. And remember, all proceeds go to the team :>.

I know that is a lot of information, but that is it for now. We still need to know who is planning on attending the hurricane fundraiser tomorrow night so please tell us if you can come.

Here are the pictures I have of homecoming:

It was a blast. There was definitely some recognition from the crowd, and we had fun showing off our creation as we blasted music from the golf cart (Thanks Shane :) ). After the great time we had, we are looking forward to a chance to do it again.

But in the meantime...Anyone want a sweatshirt or polo?

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 10.03.05

Just alerting everyone that the team of the week has been updated. I will put up pictures from homecoming next update (probably either tomorrow or Wednesday).Who do you want to see featured next week? Tell me.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 09.23.05

Small update for purposes of giving some low resolution pictures of the Fair.

I also want to note that the first team feature has been up if no one has checked yet. The team for this week is Deer Park. Please give me ideas on who to ask for next week.

    Discussion in the forums.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 09.06.05

I know we dread having to wake up early for school, but I have good news (that has absolutely nothing to do with car insurance).
Our first team meeting is next Wednesday, September 14th, after school in room 153. All CURRENT members should attend. THIS IS NOT A NEW MEMBER MEETING.

We will be discussing upcoming events that we need to prepare for.

    Update by BerserkerSpyke on 08.24.05

This Saturday, August 27th, is our August Highway Cleanup. All team members are encouraged to attend at 8am behind the high school.

After the cleanup, all team members are invited to Mr. Luchen's house for hotdogs and swimming.

After that everyone is invited to Lena's Block Party.

It is shaping up to be busy Saturday, the last meeting before the school year. I hope to see you all there!

For addresses and whatnot, just post and I'll send them to you. Or email team871@gmail.com . I can't just post them to the public for obvious reasons.

    ::update!::

Wow. Looks nice, huh? This is the 2006 West Islip Robotechs website. As you can see, there are many more sections this year for you to enjoy. The First Lego League section has even become it's own page. Not all of these sections have content yet, but that is just because we haven't had a meeting yet this year. They will all become full with time. Now this year we are going to make feedback a whole lot easier. Whenever Mr.B, myself, or another person makes a news update, the post will end with a link to a topic in the forums where you can discuss the post. So, let's try it out.
