Because of this we plan on going to off season competitions.

We would like to congratulate all the teams, and people who received any of the awards listed below.

I would like to thank all the mentors, college mentors, teachers, and team leader for all the hard work they have done this year. Good job team, relax over vacation, there is still a lot we have to do this year.

Today was the second day of the SBPLI Regional, and the first day of competition. Today we had 8, out of our ten matches; the other two matches will be tomorrow. Through out most of our matches we did exactly What we planed on doing, except during the first two matches, where we had some system glitches which are all fixed. We are currently placed 19th out of 41 teams. We have been getting many complements about our defensive cabbilities.

Through the day we helped many teams by fixing electrical systems, programming, lending them tools that they needed, and so fourth. We were glad to see that teams we helped were spreading our knowledge helping other teams with the same problems.

Today a representive from Senators Owen Johnson's office was there visiting us, as well as all the other teams. We are very glad to have been able talk with him. We gave him a team shirt and took pictures. Thank you very much for all of you support Senator.

Today our "In Pit" spy sheets were completed, so tomorrow we need the "On the Field" sheets to be completed. Tomorrow will be the first day of competition.

Throughout the day we were also helping many teams with different electrical and programming issues, as well as finding out what rules are on different components.

    Update by R.Stephenson on 02.17.07

Today the robot was finished, packed and is ready to be picked up by FedEx on Tuesday. To get it finished programming worked with auton and the ultrasonic sensors, we attached the much-needed PVC flag holder. The improved ramps were reattached and the bumpers were put on. The team picture was also taken as well as many of the robot in its final state, they will be up soon.

  • Tomorrow we will be meeting at the Library. There are no other meetings over vacation.
  • Also reminder many things are due this week so watch due dates

  • Update by R.Stephenson on 02.15.07

Today the top ramp started to be re-done because after some testing we realized it needed to be thicker and slide smother. Programming got their new ultrasonic sensors in and they were working with them as well as the full program. Electrical redid some connections for easier repair. CAD continued drawing, even though it keeps being changed.

  • Tomorrow we will be have a meeting after school we will also be working during the day
  • Saturday is picture day, wear blue shirts and bring extras if you have them.

  • Update by R.Stephenson on 02.13.07

Today the platform motors were wired. We tested the sicessor using bit-bot and it work nicely, the limit switch just needs to be adjusted. The battery box was raised 1in off the ground, for more ground clearence. much is still to be done.

    Update by R.Stephenson on 02.12.07

Today the electrical board continued to be neatened up. The Chassis was altered to allow the ramp to go down as far as possible. We found out that the batch of ultrasonic sensors were manufactured incorrectly, hopefully we are getting replacements shipped soon. We drove today and it worked smoothly, but when trying to get up a ramp, to simulate a robot, we bottomed out hitting the battery holder; we are planning to raise it if time allows. If the ramp angle is a little less we will not bottom out, but the plan is to have other climb on us so this is not as crucial as other tasks that need finishing, such as decorations put on, finish wiring, finalize programming, etc.

    Update by R.Stephenson on 02.11.07

Yesterday we shortened the robot from the lowest deck being 16in. to it being about 14in. The decks were put in place, they just need wire run from the 2 motors to the electrical board and they will be done. Limit switches were put on to the scissor. The electrical board started to be neatened up, and labels were being added, to make fixes easer and quicker.

Today Chairman's was discussed and shirt orders were finalized. For all those that did not order a shirt but still want one, extras are being ordered, but price will increase, and supplies will be limited.

    Update by R.Stephenson on 02.08.07

Today the signal light was mounted. We started to put on the winches to move the platforms, we preformed a test using human power, and the platforms moved smoothly. Programming worked with their ultrasonic sensors and are making progress. We hope to be running sometime Saturday

  • Saturday all shirt money is due.

  • Update by R.Stephenson on 02.06.07

Today People were trained in CNC, while parts were being made. We put on the top to two of the platforms on and were sanded. Battery box supports were cut down and will be put back on tomorrow.
Reminder all shirt money is due this Saturday, order forums, and the design is on the forums.

    Update by R.Stephenson on 02.05.07

Today Electrical wired the scissor, and put the board to battery connector in its final place. Programming worked with the camera. Mechanical worked with the ramps, getting the wire together and in its right place as well as machined some parts. Shirt order forums were handed out today, if you did not get one ask me or go to the FOURMS and download the file (will be there shortly)

    Update by R.Stephenson on 02.03.07

Today marks the end of week 4. Electrical finished the electrical board, and the 4 drive motors. Still need to wire the Battery to board wire, the scissors motor and the ramp motors (not currently mounted). Mechanical finished mounting the scissors, and put on a test version of the top and back platforms. Programming got the infrared sensor working, and started tweaking the code. The shipping crate was also build. Mechanical additionally started making brackets to support the 4 drive motors as well as working on the device for moving out the platform and deck. .

  • Meeting tommrow 1pm at the Libary

  • Update by R.Stephenson on 02.01.07

Between the past few days, much has happened. The electrical board is finished, except PWMs and board to battery connection. The battery box is almost done it just needs a "door" put in. The decks have had major progress made. Also programming has the ultrasonic sensors working, they just need to work with it before it is fully functional. Some of the homework letters have been sent out, and shirt order forums will be available either this Saturday or Monday.

  • Meeting Saturday 8 a.m.

    Update by R.Stephenson on 01.28.07

Yesterday was the end of week 3. Mechanical finished and tested the new "Knuckle." They decided to go with a different motor than planed, but it should be finished soon. Electrical started planning the geography of the electrical board. Programming worked with the camera. The CAD team was working on creating a Green connector. (In vast detail)
Today Meeting at 1:00 at the Libary .

    Update by R.Stephenson on 01.26.07

Wednesday, it moved. We hooked up the board off BitBot. Video will be posted in "Pictures" section shortly. After that we too it apart and went back to work. Update by R.Stephenson on 01.20.07

Today marks the end of week 2, 30 days to go. Today motor mounts were finished, and pillow blocks were mounted. The winch drums were finished, which look awesome. The top assy was mounted to the chassis. Electrical started making a battery box to hold four batteries and four chargers; we will begin painting it on Monday. We decided on a t-shirt design but the way the "871" will appear may change, depending on new ideas that were presented. This will be voted on during the week. Also springs were ordered and should arrive in 2-3 days. The crate was dissembled, because it is made of too thick of wood and will be rebuilt with a proper thickness.
