About Us
The West Islip Robotechs started back in 2002. Ever since then we have been paving the path for new innovative and creative ideas. With help from volunteers and mentors, along with the community, West Islip robotics uses S.T.E.A.M. for hands-on learning where students are taught to think outside the box. We yearly sketch, build, and create a specific task performing robot to challenge other teams with. Our team annually competes in the international FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). We are always on the lookout for new people, come join us!
West Islip High School
West Islip High School is located in Long Island, New York. This Blue Ribbon school's goal is to give students hands-on learning experience, with wide-ranging and high quality programs. Giving the students the chance to realize their academic and personal potential. West Islip students are taught to think in global terms, celebrate differences along with developing cultural sensitivity, and appreciating the lifelong process of learning.

FIRST Inspires
For Inspiration, and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST), this not-for-profit public charity, exists to prepare the young people of today for the world of tomorrow. To transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology is accessible as well as celebrated, and where young people dream of becoming science and technology leaders. FIRST was founded by Dean Kamen in 1989, being based in Manchester, NH.
